It’s all good at Good Kitchen and Market

One of my favorite local places for dining out while supporting healthy eating habits is Good Kitchen & Market. If you are in or near the downtown Marietta or Smyrna area, you must check out Good Kitchen. The owners Peter and Veronica Tompkins are lovely people. They’re friendly, warm, and passionate about feeding people delicious food that fuels their bodies. They are both cancer survivors who attribute their healing in large part to food.  Through their restaurants, they help others eat healthy in an approachable way by creating mouthwatering, nutrient-dense food served in a comforting happy environment.

Why I’m a Good Kitchen Regular

This statement found on their website about the food they serve (and the fact that food always tastes amazing!) is everything I look for when dining out:

“More vegetables, thoughtfully-sourced protein, quality grains and no refined sugar, canola oil, GMOs, antibiotics or ingredients we can’t pronounce that belong in a laboratory. The bottom line is that you can eat, drink and be healthy at GOOD.”

In a world filled with so many unhealthy choices, Good Kitchen is a very rare thing.

Part of our Saturday Morning Routine

A long walk to the original location in Marietta is our regular Saturday morning routine. After getting our hearts pumping and legs moving, the veggie bowl with added avocado, a cup of hot tea or coffee served in mugs that fit perfectly in your hands, and the warm people, are the perfect healthy start to the weekend! We love this bowl because it’s filled with protein, good fats, and fiber (in the form of lots of veggies-yay!).  They have plenty of other delicious options for breakfast as well. Give the loaded avocado toast, pancakes, and breakfast wraps a try too.

A Local Treasure

This local treasure is more than just our go-to breakfast spot, though. Lunches and dinners are just as delicious. With breakfast served all day, seasonal menu options, and regular menu favorites like egg roll in a bowl and the honey hot chicken sandwich, you’ll definitely find something you love. And if the weather is nice, the spacious front deck and lawn is the perfect spot to fuel your body and your soul.

Also, a shoutout to their incredible staff. They’re always greeting you with genuine smiles and serving up joy alongside scrumptious meals.

All in all, Good Kitchen is a little haven giving you food that will make you feel good now and later. It makes our short-list of restaurants we visit regularly.
